Page 5 of 6 MALACANANG There are many pleasant places and romantic nooks and lovely bits of scenery scattered among the barrios of Culasi, by the seaside, along country lanes and footpaths, on the sides and in the hollow of hills. But I think, on the whole, the most beautiful district of Culasi is that region embraced by the barrio of Malacanang. This section is drained by the Bacong River, and there are broad picturesque fields from which you get a full view of Madjaas and her hills. Between Malacanang and San Antonio is a charming landscape. On the west side, where a road passes, there is a lovely beach and a sea as lovely; on the east side, lush riceland that is fresh and green even during the driest of summer days. Farther toward east stands Madjaas lording it over the surrounding country.
