I miss Antique so much except its handful of traditional politicians who does not have anything in mind but their own personal interests rather than the good of the province.  Four more days before the officials who will be leading the province be chosen. Too bad, I can't be there to practice my right of suffrage.  A tito told me, "Kun may politiko daad nga magpamasahe kanimo Anne pauli liwat, uli kaw kag magboto". I found it funny, but knowing how many Antiqueños are away from Antique right now, sin-o ayhan nga politiko ang maggasto para baydan ang pamasahe ka tanan nga mga Antiqueño  nga wara sa Antique para lang makaboto? Hahaha!  Not being able to go home to vote does not mean my apathy. I am not giving up on my province.  That is the reason why I am writing this sentiment, with the hope that I may be able to stir a thought from those who are in Antique.

When I went home, I came face to face with the ugly fact that my province is rich with TRAPOS.  Rivals before, partymates now.  They used to be talking about each other's dirt before, but now, they are running for office under the same banner/party.  This is not meant to pinpoint any candidate.  What I am writing here is a sad and true situation that you could have observed also.  It was quite long before I was able to listen to DYKA and too bad, when I found time to turn Tatay's transistor radio on, what I heard is the constant backbiting, gubaanay kang tagsa ka kandidato sa sara it sara para lang mabuol ang simpatya ka mga taho.  What is more petty is hearing someone saying, "Botoha nyo si amo ja kay wara tana ti kaso, para wara run ti uyang nga tiyempo. Kay kun si amo tu ang botohon nyo kag magdaug, indi man gihapon tana makapungko sa poder kay may kaso tana sa Comelec." Whew!  Alright, you'll say that this is really the truth behind elections.  I know. But I wonder why Antique has never developed as we want it to be.  Maybe it's because you have not yet fully realized this truth? Or maybe, we're just blind with what is happening?  Why don't they talk of their political platforms instead of destroying each other's image to the public?

I pray that there will be no eyes pretending to be blind.
I pray that there will be no ears pretending to be deaf.
I pray that there will be no hands forced to write in the ballot.
I pray that there will be no one paid for a vote.
I pray that there will be no Antiqueño threatened by guns, goons and gold.

We live by principles. But do not compromise the future of your province, your family, your child, and your own by just a mere 500 pesos.

I am still looking forward to going home to the Antique that I am dreaming of.  I hope I share this same dream of seeing Antique as the next model province in the whole country with you.

	we need to cahnge the way we think... kon pinsar ta abi wra run ti may mahimo, wra gid e ta may mahimo. para kanakon education take a vital role, para sa pag asa kg banwa. kon ginalantaw natun nga ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan, dapat ma concentratte kita sa pag educate kg kabataan. ang mga mal-am tana nga wra warat pag asa run kg pag bag-o ,ma karamataty run lang nga amo gyapon ang gina hold nanda nga klase kg paminsarun. challenge ja sa mga ginikanan sa pagtudlo good values sa balay, sa mga teachers sa school kag ja sa kinaray-a.com sa publiko. mu man ang media. hay ...kalolooy lang kita, kalolooy lang ang pobre ng antike. dapat may movement for youth para matipon jang mga kabataan, inspire and challenge them to move para sa ikamayad bukot lang kang banwa kundi mismo sa kaugalingon( well-being). instead magtambay kag mag inom tuba kag mag maoy,hehe. wra ko may natumod ha. mu ja tuod nga naga karatabo. kon sako ang tanan para sa karaaydan, no time for tismis and libakanay. kon may jan man,ma minimize. good luck sa mga maisog magbaton kang jang panghangkat. 	we need to cahnge the way we think... abaw, anne... i was really laughing my heads-off sa statement ni manie. i have the same sentiments though. post timo kang importante nga topic, mabilang mo lang ang ma-reply. amo ri-a ang reality kadya kang mga kabataan. kun ma post kaw kang topic nga \"Sexiest Woman,\" abaw, balik-balikan pa ri-a.     Kun may deliberation sa mga topics dya sa Lit Section or Forum about socio-political issues, we can certainly contribute ideas para sa kauswagan kang aton banwa. ang problema busy ang mga kabataan sa site sa iban nga topic. ma disappoint kaw lang, duro miyembro ka rehistro pira lang katawo ma devote kang time para mag reply, daw ginaagyan lang ang mga topic nga kinanglan i-address.     hopefully our beliefs will serve as an awakening to every Antiqueños. this web site is a powerful tool. nothing is impossible man bay.
