Vintage welcoming landmark is the Roman-Hispano Catholic Church with a towering belfry built in 1875-1880. It is a massive historical edifice made of white coral rocks and shells. Two kilometers away from the poblacion is the impeccably refreshing and relaxing Sira-an Hot Springs. Believed to be curative, warm sulfur springs atop boulders flow from the crevices and settle in a large pool and jacuzzi-like tubs. Reef barriers adjacent to the resort serve as platforms for diving buffs.Extremely awesome is the Nogas Island, an uninhabited, enchanted marine and bird sanctuary festooned with vibrant seashells. With excellent coral reefs, the island is undoubtedly perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling. Demographics: Year Founded: 1861

Historical BackgroundImbued with historical facts and tourist attractions, the Myths and Legends of the Philippines identified this area to have been peopled by Ignieni tribes long before the Borneans came. The town started as an arabal of Dao (now Tobias Fornier) in the year 1843 and in 1848, the parish priest of Anini-y and Dao initiated the transfer of barrios Magdalena, Casay and San Francisco from Dao to Anini-y. It was then that Anini-y established its legal identity and became separated from its mother town. On August 5, 1949, President Elpidio Quirino signed EO 205 mandating Tourist Spots
