Posted by Philippine Information Agency

San Jose, Antique – About 11 international placement agencies will join Jobs Fair in Antique on June 12 in observance of the 111th Philippine Independence Day.

Marrieta Belleza, Human Resource Officer, Office of the Governor said that both the blue and white collar jobs are in demand abroad, thus Antiqueños should take this opportunity to avail of the job offers being made by placement agencies directly to the workers.

Among the blue collar jobs that are in demand are plumbers, carpenters, electrician, domestic helpers, barista, welder, mechanic, machine operators, cook, bakers, drivers, laboratory technicians, fashion designers, beauticians, sales ladies.

For white collar jobs, in demand are mechanical and civil engineers, doctors, nurses, accountant, financial controllers, teachers/tutors, store managers, land surveyors, executive secretaries, among others.

Placement agencies have identified the following countries in which these services are needed, Republic of Maldives, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Guam, Taiwan, Singapore, Hongkong, Dubai and Kuwait.

Belleza, reminded the applicants to bring their resume/biodata during the jobs fair.  It would be better if they have passport and NBI clearance for travel abroad, she said.

Meanwhile, Labor and Employment Secretary Marianito D. Roque said the Kalayaan 2009 Mega Job and Livelihood Fair would be held simultaneously in 19 cities nationwide on June 12, 13, and 14 to mark the country's celebration of Independence Day this year. About 1,000 employers from the private and government sectors including those from the overseas recruitment industry would participate in the mega event.

Mega Kalayaan Job and Livelihood Fairs is in line with this year’s theme of Independence day “Kagitingan, Kagalingan, Kasipagan Tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan”.  (PS Mabaquiao/PIA)
