src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> This year’s theme, “Demand-Driven Statistics: Key to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development,” highlights the role of statistics in business promotion and development, specifically in MSMEs. It is aimed at promoting the use of statistics in growing a business and in encouraging entrepreneurs and the public in general to use statistics to succeed in business. Other activities organized for the celebration include a month-long statistical exhibit in the New Capitol lobby, the radio plug-in and guestings, and the Philippine Statistical Quiz for College and High School Students on October 10 and 28 respectively. In a tremendous support to the month-long celebration, Governor Salvacion Perez handed over to the Provincial Statistics Officer Jesus Escote, Jr of the National Statistics Office- Antique the amount of P100,000.00 to be used to cover the expenses of different NSM activities. Since 1990, the National Statistics Month is being celebrated in the province pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, declaring the month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month to promote, enhance and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society and to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
