The Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) scholarship programs continue to attract more students in various schools here.

Its scholarship program on Ladderized Education Program (LEP), Private Education Student Financial  Assistance (PESFA) and the PGMA Training for Work Scholarship Program has graduated 1,039 students with a funding of P 5.719 million said TESDA OIC Marilyn P. Aguilar.

The Ladderized Education Program is implemented in coordination with participating schools that include Advance Central College, St. Anthony’s College and Computer College of the Visayas.

Courses offered under LEP include among others; PC operation, Commercial Cooking and Housekeeping, Aguilar said.

Trainings conducted would either be center based like TESDA’s Provincial Training Center (PTC), school-based with the participating schools and community-based in partnership with the local government units and  enterprise-based.

In 2007, a funding of P1 billion was provided for the President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Training for Work Scholarship Programs through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

As spelled out in the 2007 SONA of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, investment in education is one of the priority programs of her administration.
