Patnongon officials bring medical, dental mission, other social services to the barangays Print E-mail

Mayor Henry A. Mondejar of the town of Patnongon facilitated medical and dental mission, bloodletting activity to different barangays in Patnongon this province as a gift to his constituents on his natal day..

The Medical Staff of the Rural Health Unit of Patnongon headed by Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Deogracias Solis conducted a medical  and dental mission to indigent patients in Barangay Poblacion and other remote barangays in Patnongon with assistance of other medical practitioners in San Jose.  Medicines were given free to patients sponsored by Philippine Charity Sweeptakes.

Ester Buenaventura, Provincial Administrator of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) also facilitated the blood letting activity. Punong Barangays in the said town campaigned for blood donors since the PNRC has received numerous requests for blood packs for patients confined in the hospital.  Buenaventura reiterated the call for all people to donate blood not just once but regularly as long as they are healthy especially in observance of the blood donors month this July.

Meanwhile, Families affected by typhoon Frank in Patnongon has received various goods and services during relief operations from the Provincial and Municipal Government, Office of Congressman Exequiel B. Javier and other generous donors.  Aside from the basic commodities, school bags, books and other school supplies were also distributed to children in 12 elementary schools affected by the typhoon.

In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, the National Food Authority has distributed 896 kilos of rice to 47 day care centers in Patnongon for Food for School Program.  Each pupil in said day care centers is given one kilo a day for one week to help eliminate malnutrition among pre-school children.

The undertakings of the Municipal Government and other concerned agencies is in line with the battle cry of the present administration “Alagaan ang Kalusugan, Labanan ang Kahirapan”
