Kinaray-a.com was invited as an observer to the Board of Trustees
meeting of the Binirayan Foundation Inc. (BFI) held last Friday, 11 April
2008 at the ANIAD Conference Room, New Capitol Bldg., San Jose, Antique.
In the absence of Mr. Fridy Panaguiton, Ms. Jigsz Nietes-Satapornvanit
(BOD member) attended the meeting to represent K.com, Inc. The meeting
was chaired by Her Excellency Governor Sally Perez and attended by
BFI’s board members and officers. BFI’s mandate is to promote Antique’s
culture and arts through various initiatives, one of which is the annual
Binirayan Festival. According to Alex de los Santos, BFI’s Executive
Director, K.com was invited along with a couple of other organizations
who have similar vision, mission and goals as BFI, to be considered for
membership. He will be sending a formal letter of invitation to K.com to
join BFI as a member. This is a positive development, proof that the
existence of Kinaray-a.com, an NGO working towards promoting Antique
culture and uniting Antiquenos all over the world, is being recognized in
the province. During the meeting the body was informed that Kinaray-a.com is helping
in the dissemination of information and publicity related to this
year’s Binirayan Festival, and that the readers (and listeners of Kinaray-a
music) are not only within the Philippines but also Antiquenos,
Kinaray-a speakers and friends from many parts of the world. Know more about BFI and its activities at
