Guidelines for Disco Derby
1. Participant. The Competition is open to all male/female or a combination of both with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 members for each competing dance group is allowed. All competing entries are required to fill-up entry forms available at Binirayan Foundation, Inc. office. Deadline for submission of entry forms will be on April 14, 2008.
2. Performance. Each group will be given a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes to perform including the entrance and exit. Every exceeding of one (1) minute to the allotted time will be deducted one point from their total score.
Acrobatic steps, remixes of music, props and costumes are allowed. However, pyrotechnics (explosive, firecracker, sparklers and the like) are not allowed in the performance.
3. Criteria. The basis for judging will be based on the following: Performance (sustained energy level, mastery of figures, execution of steps, precision of movements) 50%, Choreography (artistic balance, build-up of momentum, difficulty of steps) 30% and Clarity of Concept (music, props and costumes and presentation) 20%.
The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable. No protests shall be entertained.
4. Prizes. A cash prize of Php 5,000.00 for the first prize, Php 3, 000.00 for the second prize, Php 2000.00 for the third prize.
