Hello.. I'm not going to speak in straight kinaray-a kay mahuya ko. Maghangyo lang ko sang sorry sa inyo because my Kinaray-a has been bastardized. It's because I was already born in Mindanao -- and too many languages had been filtered in my head. The result is: I have not been fluent in any languages at all.

First of all, i-congratulate ko guid kamo sang duro-duro for the work you've done here. I was so happy to have stumbled upon this site. This is truly an amazing work.

I am currently an Anthropology student and I am planning to do a research on Kinaray-a stories, folklore, narratives, legends, poems, literature and the like. I have not planned out the work yet, but I am hoping to get some help from the Karay-a in this site.

P.S. I am planning to buy a Kinaray-a dictionary. I feel very ashamed that I know more of other languages than my mother tongue. I can speak some and understand, but I would really love to learn the language properly. Again, I am sorry.

I am happy to know that some one like you are interested in researching about kinaray-a culture. I applaud you for having such an interest. You don't have to be apolegetic for not speaking the language. It is understandable.

As soon as you finish your work and you have a thesis or book in writing and available , please let us know. I am very interested in getting a copy.
