Busina para sa Katotohanan - Code NGO (Coalition of Development Non-Government Organizations)

We’re pleased to inform you that nationwide simultaneous Busina para sa Katotohanan or noise barrage (and other activities like masses for truth, prayer rallies, candle lighting, concerts) will be held by various groups including CODE-NGO members today, 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, Feb 22, the 22nd anniversary of the 4-day People Power 1, in:

a) Davao City
b) Bacolod City
c) Iloilo City
d) Legazpi/Albay
e) Daet
f) Naga City
g) Olongapo

and in Metro Manila in

-Taft Avenue, in front of La Salle
-in front of ULTRA, Pasig
-Espana Blvd, Manila, in front of UST
-Katipunan, Loyola Heights, in front of Ateneo
-Araneta Avenue, near Tatalon
-Binondo, Manila.

(note: in some of these places, activities will start earlier at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm, but will end with the noise barrage at 6:00 - 7:00 pm)

There will probably be additional places — these are still being finalized today.

Today’s Busina para sa Katotohanan is being organized by different groups including the Pray, Watch and Act Movement (including CEAP, PPCRV, Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, and others), CODE-NGO (including MINCODE, WEVNET, CBD, PHILDHRRA, PHILSSA and others), PAKISAMA, Akbayan/LnM, Black and White Movement (incl BnW - Katipunan) and others.

We hope you can join the “Busina” in any of these places or organize one in your area. All you need is a small group (as few as 10; but hopefully more), streamers or placards (”Busina para sa Katotohanan”, “Blow your Horn for Truth”, “Support Truth and Accountability”, “Support Jun Lozada and Other Witnesess”) and noise makers (horns, pots and pans, etc). Our experience here shows that most drivers enthusiastically blow their horns, passers-by can be easily persuaded to join and hold placards, even for just 10-15 minutes, and we all have a fun time protesting!!
