kinaray-a is the mother language...
accdg. to DR. Leoncio Deriada, in his book LIttle Lessons, Little Lectures, "kinaray-a is the mother language of hiligaynon and aklanon. Hiligaynon developed from Kinaray-a through the Chinese of Molo. That explains the shift from the Kinaray-a r to the HIligaynon l as in Moro to Molo, wara to wala, harigi to haligi, tarong to talong, marapit to malapit, daraga to dalaga, etc. Tubi and paligo are some type of baby talk, but that was what Chinese did to tubig and parigos."

"Kinaray-a is the true original that gave birth to hiligaynon. Kinaray-a is the original language of the noble ancestors of the West Visayans and Hiligaynon, the language of the people of the capitals(Iloilo and Bacolod), is the corupted, bastardized offspring."

Thus, this should make us Kinaray-a speakers feel proud of our language.
